Summary: Tens of thousands are in solitary confinement in American prisons which according to the United Nations is torture. Producer Claire Schoen met nine former prisoners who describe in detail what it’s like to be in solitary confinement.
A revealing bit of research on a subject usually kept from the public eye. Quite engaging, with a good amount of direct testimony. Has the character of a group interview. The subjects all have direct personal experience with the topic, which is a good part of why i like the piece.
It did a good job of putting me in one of those cells for a little while.

This disturbing piece reveals a form of torture endured by countless prisoners every day, apparently sanctioned by our society.
