From One Jay Bird to Another

Jay, I have listened to this story twice now. Please write another. Take me back again to the Huntley Project. The things we share - the playground with the majestic swings, the Red Devil (gone with the recent fire), Dinty's Bar and Cafe, and the voice of your father - you bring them to life again. Jay Peterson, Huntley Project High School Class of 1970

What a fantastic piece this was! It took me back to my own childhood, made me laugh, and even choked me up a bit. Everything came together perfectly, from the fine performances to the music, to the exceptionally well-written script. I look forward to hearing more of Mr. Kettering's work, and hope I won't have to wait too long. Outstanding!

Time

The vererable Mr Kettering has taken the thread of time and stirred my childhood memories. I had a wonderful time with the piece. Time after time I found myself in the character relating to the story. At times, I thought I was the character being the youngest of 4 brothers, AND my Dad was a highschool coach. Good times! Time will tell where this piece will take Mr Kettering, for me it was time well spent.

Like "A Christmas Story," only better!

Jay's play reminded me from the start of one of my favorite movies, "A Christmas Story." It would be wonderful if Jay would write more of these vinettes and Montana Public Radio would produce them!

Just like it was or the way Jay said

This is Great. I came to the H P in seventh grade and can relate to this. Nice Job Jay

Takes Me Back to My Small-Town Roots

If you like home-grown HUMOR, true-kid insight and six-year-old sugarbeet shenanigans, then listen to Jay Kettering's latest comedy/dramedy radio play, which aired last night on public radio KUFM just in time for Daylight Saving's Time. Personally, I'll never tell time the same way again; as a matter of fact, I’m up in arms about it! Don’t bail on me, now, Listeners. FIVE brilliant stars.

WOW

I grew up in the Huntley Project. Made me realize how I miss the small town atmosphere...or maybe how fun it was to grow up with these characters

Just another side of Jay!

Mr. Kettering has raised the bar (or moved the hands/digits or ...)!

TERRIFIC, SWEET, FUNNY

The piece captures such great images of childhood, with hysterically funny dialogue and wonderful story-telling. A total gem!

Masterfully done!

This is one of the funniest pieces I've heard. The writing is first-rate, full of insight and wisdom as well as humor. It's also well-acted and well-produced. As much as I love radio, I could definitely see this being made into a movie. It's that good.

I couldn't quit listening.

This radio play is a lot of fun and really takes you back to this boy's life. It's easy to imagine small-town life from a kid's perspective.
