Summary: Failing neighborhood schools often have neither the support nor resources to turn themselves around. Jesse Sharkey, Vice President of Chicago Teachers Union, says that there are two separate and unequal school systems in Chicago.
At this point I think teen violence is the worst right now. Many people try to ignore it, which is the problem. We need more students, teens, who are willing to step up and say this is getting out of control. This is why I like this piece. I wish it was longer, but it does hold a good message.
