Paul McDonald's piece is an "ear-catcher." People came in from other rooms to catch what I was listening to. Very brief, hard-hitting and funny, this piece captures well the experience of working with adolescents in a school setting. Having experienced similar situations, the percussion beats add to the piece because that's pretty much what one feels like during a day of substitute teaching. Since many public radio listeners are involved in the educational process in some way, this piece should fit in well after the broadcasting of serious educational pieces.
