On this MUSIC ARCHIVE SHOWCASE episode, it's the second of a two-part edition from our occasional series TALK MUSIC WITH ME. We dig back a few decades into our files to unearth some never-before-broadcast interviews, recorded over the phone in May 1993 with two key members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Lynyrd Skynyrd, both sadly departed now. One, a founding and consistent member of the band through its entire history, guitarist Gary Rossington, who died in March of 2023 at the age of 71... and Ed King, who played and toured with the band through their first three albums and rejoined the band for a 1987 tour and three more subsequent latter day studio albums. Ed King died in 2018 at the age of 68. Paul Ingles hosts this casual oral history with the two, focusing this time on some of the band's top albums, the plane crash that killed 3 members, and their comeback effort in the mid-1980's and into the 21st Century.
